What Holds - Series

Shot in South Africa

What Holds is a photographic series exploring the forces that prevent rupture in the living world.

Through moments of balance, connection, collective presence, movement, choice, and restraint, the series observes what allows bodies, groups, and relationships to endure.

The photographs do not focus on action or spectacle, but on tension held in silence — the instant before a leap, the bond that protects, the cohesion of a group, the determination of shared movement, the pause before a decision, and the composure of contained strength.

Predominantly rendered in black and white, with color used selectively, the series favors restraint over demonstration, inviting the viewer to slow down and attend to what remains steady when everything could give way.
